Walton P DeWitz

Walton Paul DeWitz, age 96 of Good Thunder, died Sunday, May 22, 2005 at Immanuel " St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday at St. John Lutheran Church in Good Thunder with Rev. Rudolph H. Maurer Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Good Thunder. Visitation will be from 5 " 7 p.m., Wednesday at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before services at the church on Thursday.

Walton Paul DeWitz was born July 9, 1908 to Paul and Adeline (Lehman) DeWitz in Good Thunder. He graduated from Good Thunder High School and later attended three years at the University of Minnesota. He was united in marriage to Esther G. Prange on August 18, 1932 in Minneapolis. Walton farmed in the Good Thunder area most of his life. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and was a former clerk for Lyra Township. Walton and Esther enjoyed traveling.

He is survived by one son, Dean (Carol) DeWitz of Good Thunder; one daughter, Carol (Jack) Kissel of San Ramon, Costa Rica; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson, and one nephew.

Preceded in death by his wife; granddaughter, LuAnn; granddaughter-in-law, Sharilyn; two sisters, Elsa and Selma.
