Willard W. Davis, age 98, of rural Lake Crystal died Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at Madelia Community Hospital, Madelia.

Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church, Lake Crystal, with Rev. Randal Lubbers officiating. Interment in Garden City Cemetery. Visitation on Wednesday (TODAY) from 4-7 p.m. at Lake Crystal Mortuary and one hour before services at the church on Thursday. Memorial may be given to the Madelia Community Hospital or Donors Choice.

Willard was born August 3, 1906 in Judson Township, Blue Earth Co. to David L. and Catherine (Davis) Davis. He was united in marriage to Leda A. Anderson on September 4, 1934 in Waukegan, IL. Willard lived on the farm, where he was born for 95 years and then sold it to his grandson. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Crystal. Willard and Leda wintered in Florida and Texas from 1966-1997. Willard enjoyed traveling, reading, visiting with family and friends and his grandchildren.

He is survived by three sons, Michael Mick Davis and wife, Laurel of rural Lake Crystal, John Davis and wife, Connie of Nevis, Douglas Davis and wife, Candy of North Mankato; nine grandchildren, Ginny (Lou) Darr, Jeffery (Christi) Davis, Katherine (Mike) Lindquist, Kara (Aaron) Mullen, Blake (Amy) Davis, Sara (John) Nelson, Emily (Dennis) Rudie, Amanda (Scott) Bohlke, Lindsey (Mike) Kuntz; 14 great-grandchildren, Heidi, Cole and Samantha Davis, Rhonda Darr, Marcie, Erin and Megan Lindquist, Khrystiyan and Kyleigh Mullen, Katherine and Marit Nelson, Nicholas and Brynn Bohlke, Benjamin Rudie; nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Leda in Sept. of 1999, his parents, three brothers, Elwyn, Roger and David and a sister, Marion Johnson.

Asked by a granddaughter if there was anything in his life he would change. His response was, I never made millions, and I did not set the world on fire, but I had a good run.
