Dollis Hansen

Dollis E. Hansen, age 90, of rural Garden City, died Monday, May 9, 2005 at the Lake Crystal Health Care Center.

Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at the Garden City Baptist Church with Pastor Harvey Hallada and Chaplain Jim Dye officiating. Burial will be in Garden City Cemetery. There will be no reviewal.Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Dollis was born September 14, 1914 to William A. and Agnes (White) Nichols in Amboy. She graduated from Amboy High School in 1931 and later graduated from Mankato Teachers College. She taught high school for several years in Garden City and later worked as a library aid at the Wellcome Memorial School. She married Ernest Hansen on June 8, 1941 in Garden City. Together they farmed until 1999 when they moved to Primrose Retirement Community in Mankato. Dollis moved to the Lake Crystal Health Care Center in 2003. Dollis was an active member of the Garden City Baptist Church.

Dollis is survived by two daughters, Kathryn (David) Byram of rural Garden City, Mary (Jim) Conroy of Hastings; three grandchildren, Lee (Angela) Byram of Cook, Jill Byram of Biwabik, Jay Byram of Mapleton; one step grandson, Patrick Conroy of River Falls, WI; three great grandsons, Alex, Levi, and Ethan Byram. Preceded in death by her husband, Ernest in 2003.
