Marion Graham Maxey, age 86, of Deming, New Mexico and formerly of Lake Crystal died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 4, 2005 in El Paso, TX from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
An 11:00 a.m. memorial service will be Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Crystal with Rev. Randal Lubbers officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Lake Crystal Mortuary. A private family burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato.
MG was born February 16, 1919 in Laurens, Iowa to Albert and Lillian (Graham) Maxey and moved with his family to Minnesota in 1924. MG was a 1939 Lake Crystal High School graduate and served in the US Army Air Corp during World War II. He married Ruth Davis on April 9, 1949 at the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Crystal. MG was a self employed contractor in the Lake Crystal area. MG and his wife, Ruth moved to New Mexico in 1997.
MG was a member of First Presbyterian Church and American Legion John Roth Post 294 and a former member of the Horseshoe Club and Lions Club all of Lake Crystal. He enjoyed woodworking and playing horseshoes.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth of Deming, NM; four children and their spouses, David and Susan Maxey of Littleton, CO, Marty and Kim Maxey of Downers Grove, IL, Rolle and Jodi Maxey of Mankato, Susan and Eddie Jones of Lexington, SC; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
