Mary Jane Kitzmann

Mary Jane (Zierke) Kitzmann, age 73, of Mankato, died Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at Nancys Comfort Kare, rural Kasota.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Mankato with burial in Riverview Cemetery in Elmore, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to ISJ-MHS Hospice Program, Lutheran Hour Ministries, or to an organization of the donors choice. Arrangements handled with Mankato Mortuary.

Mary was born January 9, 1932 to Robert and Sophie (Madetzke) Zierke in Elmore Township. She was baptized at St. Johns Lutheran Church, rural Elmore and confirmed her Christian faith at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elmore. She attended District 17 grade school and graduated from Elmore High School. She graduated from the College of Medical Technology in Minneapolis and worked as a Medical Technician. Mary married Richard Kitzmann at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elmore. Mary had a great joy in tending her gardens, both vegetable and floral.

Mary is survived by her husband, Richard of 54 years, daughters, Rebecca and Julie both of California; sons, Thomas of California and John (Elizabeth) of Wisconsin; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Betty Lou) Zierke of Morris, MN; nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Donald and Wesley Zierke.
