Eldora Damlow, age 76 of Mankato, died Monday, May 2, 2005 at Mankato House Health Care Center.
Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Mankato Mortuary with Rev. Eugene Glade officiating with visitation one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to an organization of the donors choice.
Eldora Louise Damlow was born July 31, 1928 to Johann (John) and Anna (Martens) Damlow at their home in Lynn Township. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Evangelical & Reformed Church in Hutchinson. She grew up and received her education at District 20 in Lynn Township. Eldora was a 1946 Hutchinson High School graduate and received her nurses training at Cannon Falls. After graduation, she began working at the Cannon Falls Sanitarium and later held nursing positions at the Veterans Hospital in St. Paul, St. Peter State Hospital, and St. Peter Community Hospital. Eldora retired from her nursing career in 1995.
Eldora was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Mankato. She enjoyed traveling, reading and football games.
Eldora is survived by three sisters, Alvina Duesterhoeft, Bertha Rusch, Irene and her husband, Lloyd Christensen all of Hutchinson; friend, Miriam Apitz of Mankato; nieces, nephews, many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers-in-law, Norbert Rusch and Ernst Duesterhoeft.
