Helen Ann (Schostag) Kenward, age 86 of Mankato, died Friday, April 29, 2005 at the Mankato Lutheran Home.
Memorial service will be 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at Hosanna Lutheran Church, Mankato, with Rev. Steve Kosberg officiating. Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday in Woodland Hills Memorial Park, Mankato. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Monday at Mankato Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Echo Food Shelf or Hosanna Lutheran Church.
Helen was born February 12, 1919 in St. Clair, MN to Robert and Anna (Klingbeil) Schostag. She graduated from St. Clair High School and Mankato Commercial College. Helen was united in marriage to Howard R. Kenward on April 24, 1941 in Mankato. She worked as a bookkeeper and stenographer at various businesses in Mankato. Helen was a longtime member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and library guild, before joining Hosanna Lutheran Church. Her hobbies were gardening and bird watching, but her passion in life were her five children.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, Robert and Ann Kenward of Owatonna, Todd and Kathy Kenward of Mankato; three daughters and their husbands, Ann and Don Swenson of Raleigh, NC, Mary and Rev. Steve Kosberg of Mankato, Barbara and Bob Rolfes of New Braunfels, TX; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Howard.
