Frank A Courts

Frank Able Courts, age 90 of Mankato and formerly of Jeffers, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at Oaklawn Health Care Center.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor David Banfield officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Jeffers Cemetery in Jeffers. Visitation will be from 2 " 4 p.m. on Sunday at Mankato Mortuary and one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday. Memorials are preferred to Jeffers Baptist Church or Bethel Baptist Church.

Frank was born August 12, 1914 in Waterloo, Iowa to Jacob and Della (Dunn) Courts. He grew up and farmed in the Jeffers area. On September 12, 1942, he married Alice Goeman in Jeffers. They continued to farm in the Jeffers area until 1963. Frank owned and operated Courts Service Marine until his retirement in 1979. Frank enjoyed fishing, woodworking and gardening. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Mankato and a former member of Jeffers Baptist Church in Jeffers.

Frank is survived by two sons, Dayle Courts of Corpus Christi, TX, John Courts and his wife, Sheila of Harris, MN; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Courts of Mankato; sister-in-law, Jeanette Courts of CO; nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
