Jacqueline J. Michel, age 79, of North Mankato, died Monday morning, April 25, 2005 at Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in North Mankato with Rev. Peter Nosbush, officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Mankato Mortuary with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service. Visitation continues one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Memorials are preferred to an organization of the donors choice.
Jacqueline Jean Michel was born October 8, 1925 in Tyler to Cecil Joseph and Gladys Evelyn (Charlesworth) Kelley. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1943 and worked at a bank in Marshall. She took the Civil Service Test and worked in Utah for the Government during World War II. She returned to Minnesota and worked for First National Bank in Mankato. On May 10, 1948, she married Donald Michel at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in North Mankato. Jacqueline was a housewife and homemaker for her family. From 1976-1983, she was the secretary for the former Grandview Memorial Gardens and was later employed at Carlson Craft catalog department until she retired.
Jacqueline was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking, canning, and sewing. She cherished her grandchildren and loved to laugh about all the fun family times.
Survivors include three sons, Tim (Cheryl) Michel of North Mankato, Patrick Michel of North Mankato, Mark Michel and special friend, Jan Bliss of Owatonna; daughter, Mary (Gary) Sens of North Mankato; eight grandchildren, Jessica (Joel) Mann, Jason (Angie) Michel, Tony Michel, Brian and Cory Sens, Breana, Jeffrey, and Laraya Michel; four great-grandchildren, Bradley, Jaden, Jordan, and Carter; sister, Fran Trudeau of Mankato; three brothers-in-law, Jim (Lorraine) Michel of North Mankato, Paul (Corrine) Michel of Ballwin, MO, Joe (Beverly) Michel of North Mankato; sister-in-law, Mary Michel of North Mankato; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald in 1995; two infant children; a grandson, Andrew; two brothers, Ken and Jim Kelley; two brothers-in-law, Art Michel and Leo Trudeau; and two sisters-in-law, Joyce Kelley and Darlene Kelley.
