Dorothy L. Eberhart, age 90, of Mankato and formerly of Garden City, died Monday, April 18, 2005 at Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospital, Mankato.
Memorial service 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2005 at St. Peters Lutheran Church, Vernon Center, with Rev. Thomas Lock officiating. Visitation Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Mankato Mortuary. Interment in Memorial Park Cemetery, Good Thunder. Memorials may be given to St. Peters Lutheran Church or Sibley Manor.
Dorothy was born May 29, 1914 to Carl and Lena (Nelson) Heins in Webster City, Iowa. She moved at age 3 with her parents to Minnesota. She attended country school, parochial school and graduated from Good Thunder High School in 1931. She was united in marriage to Russell Eberhart on May 31, 1936 in Good Thunder. Together they lived on the farm for 63 years. Dorothy was formerly involved in community and church activities, ladies aid and had taught Sunday school for many years. She enjoyed traveling, needlepoint, reading, her home, friends, and her family.
Dorothy is survived by a son, David (Barbara) Eberhart of rural Garden City; two daughters, Janet Cooper of Bloomington, Jean (Tom) Clifford of Maple Grove; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marge (Harry) Barnard of Good Thunder, Shirley (Jim) Biddle of Amboy; two brothers, Harry (Lavonne) Heins of Good Thunder, Henry Heins of Lake Havasu City, AZ; three sisters-in-law, Donna Heins of Good Thunder, Dolores Heins of Vernon Center, and Edna Eberhart of Madelia; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by her husband Russell in 1999; two brothers, Ed and Russell Bud ; son-in-law, John Cooper.
