Arlene Mae Meier age 83, of North Mankato, died Thursday, April 14, 2005 at Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal with Rev. Nancy Dreier officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Lake Crystal Mortuary and one hour before services at the church on Monday.
Arlene was born August 7, 1921 in Linden Township, Brown County to Alvin and Clyda (Thormodson) Halverson. She was a graduate of New Ulm High School. In 1947, she married Martin Pat Meier in Lake Crystal. Arlene owned and operated Meiers Caf in Lake Crystal, Skyview Caf, Andys Caf, and Rons Grill in Mankato. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal, American Legion Auxiliary in Hanska, Sons of Norway, and a Gold Star Mother. She enjoyed bowling, card playing, and ballroom dancing.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Boyd and Laura Meier of Lake Crystal, Greg and Annie Meier of St. Peter; three grandchildren, Crystal, Dustin, and Nicole; a brother, Marlow Halverson and wife, Adeline of Madelia; sister-in-law, Betty Halverson of New Ulm; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Martin; brother, Kenneth; and two sons, Gary and Bruce.
