Hilda E Woods

Hilda Elizabeth Woods, age 95, of rural Lake Crystal died Sunday, March 13, 2005, at Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospital, Mankato.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mankato with Rev. Paul Nolting officiating. Interment in Minneopa Cemetery. Visitation 4 " 7 p.m. Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary and continues one hour before services at church on Wednesday. Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Hilda was born May 1, 1909, to Daniel J. and Johanna W.M. (Arnemann) Hanel in South Bend Township, Blue Earth County. She attended Rush Lake School and graduated from Mankato Commercial College. She was united in marriage to David E. Woods on March 20, 1935, in Mankato. Hilda was employed as a bookkeeper at Krost and Harty and as a cook at A&W Drive Inn. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and its ladies auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, needlework, playing piano, and nature.

Hilda is survived by four daughters, Margaret (Lowell) Schreyer and Mary (Marvin) Schweim of rural Mankato, Doris Woods and Darlene Woods of rural Lake Crystal; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and two cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1959; stillborn son; and three brothers.
