Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Elaine M. James, age 86, died peacefully March 7, 2005 with her family by her side at Alterra Sterling House, Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Tim Biren officiating. Interment in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, St. Clair. Visitation 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service, and continues one hour before services at church on Wednesday. Memorials may be given to Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospice Program.
Elaine was born March 24, 1918 to Harry and Rose (Bruels) Wenner in St. Clair. She graduated from St. Clair High School. She was united in marriage to Merle James on June 16, 1953 in St. Peter, MN. Elaine was a homemaker for her family. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Merle James of Mankato; three daughters, Mona Tweetie Will and her husband, Randy of rural St. Clair, Mary Bubbles James-Neher and her husband, Rodney Neher of Janesville, WI, Gloria Puddin Winter of Mankato; eleven grandchildren, Jamie (Sara) Will, Kristin and Brian Will, Ben, Ike, and Joel Neher, Kathryn, Robyn, and Aryn Block, Barry and Sara Winter; brother, Lee (Berneil) Wenner of Odin; sister, Joan Bunde of Camarillo, CA; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Dan Block in 2002; sister, Ivernie Galston; two brothers, Robert and Edwin.
