Robert "Rob" Ellis Redding Jr., age 44 of LeSueur, died Friday, September 21, 2012 at his home.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mankato with Pastor John Petersen officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will be held from 5 - 7 p.m., Monday at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Big Brother - Big Sister program.

Rob was born October 23, 1967 to Robert and Dorothy (Gosen) Redding in Mankato, Minnesota. He graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1985 and then graduated from the University of Northern Iowa - Cedar Falls, Iowa.He was united in marriage to Laura Metcalfe on December 31, 2000. Rob was employed as an anchor and reporter for KEYC Television in North Mankato for five years. He then was employed by Nicollet County Court House in environmental services. Rob was a member of MENSA.

Rob enjoyed writing, music, and playing the piano and guitar. He loved time on his farm and especially raising his donkeys.

Rob is survived by his wife, Laura of rural LeSueur; mother, Dorothy Redding of Mankato, MN; sister, Sandra Redding of Warwick, RI; two nieces, Lauren (Joe) Dipilato of Hudson, NH, Maret Paetznick of Providence, RI; half-sisters, Kay (Jack Nordby) Redding of Plymouth, MN, Beth (Dan) Weber of Sioux Falls, SD; half-brothers, Lyn (Marilyn Coulter) Redding of Eden Prairie, MN, Brian (Deb) Redding of Windom, MN, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Ellis Redding Sr.; and half-brothers, Vee and Jon Redding.
