James E. Moe passed away peacefully on September 18, 2012 from a massive brain hemorrhage. He was surrounded by family and friends. Jim was born on July 28, 1936 to Bert and Bertha (Johnson) Moe, in Mankato, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his teenage son Brian, his parents, and sister Norma Conner, of Baltimore, MD. He is survived by his wife, Betty (High) Moe of 55 years. A son, Brad Moe, (daughter-in-law Heidi) from Chaska, MN. A daughter, Brenda Belcourt, (son-in-law Brett) from St. Clair, MN. Grandchildren, Lauren Moe, Andrew Moe, Brian Belcourt, Tyler Belcourt, and Donovan Belcourt and a brother, Don Moe (sister-in-law Dee) of Burnsville, MN, Harold High (brother-in-law) from Mankato, MN and many nieces and nephews in Baltimore, MD and Burnsville, MN.
Jim graduated from Mankato High School in 1955. He was employed by Mankato Brewery and later by the Mankato Citizens Telephone Company (Hickorytech) for around 30 years until he was forced to retire early due to a disability. Jim had many memorable fishing and hunting trips to Canada and the Great Lakes. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He loved the outdoors, and enjoyed nature and all wildlife.
Jim's service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, September 21, 2012 at Northview " North Mankato Mortuary with Rev. Virgil Peterson officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:30 until the start of the service Friday at the funeral home. Lunch will follow the service. Burial will be at Minneopa Cemetery, Mankato. He will be missed by many.
