William "Bill" Fields, age 62, of Good Thunder, died on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 29 at 10:30 a.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will be on Friday, September 28 from 4-7 at Northview and will continue one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Bill was born on July 24, 1950 in Mankato to William Frank and Lydia (Krueger) Fields. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1968. Bill served in the United States Navy. After serving in the Navy Bill was a machinist for Western Airlines in California. He then worked for Delta Airlines for 40 years before retiring. Bill loved vintage cars and attending car shows. He enjoyed traveling and get togethers with friends. He also enjoyed music and playing the guitar and banjo.
He is survived by his mother, Lydia of Mankato; sister, Jean Uchida of Mankato; two brothers, Robert of Anchorage, AK and Bruce of Smiths Mill; and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his father and uncle, Howard.
