Aric Paul True, age 39, of Mankato died with his Bible on Friday September 7, 2012.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 14, 2012, at 11:00 at Hosanna Lutheran Church with Pastor Dan Weise and Darren Scruggs officiating. Visitation will be at the church 1 hour before the service. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Aric was born to Charles and Lois True in Mankato and grew up on Indian Lake Road spending time on the rivers and hiking in the woods. He enjoyed riding dirt bikes and four-wheelers and he loved to fish. He graduated from Mankato West High School and from there on he worked construction.
Throughout his life he was an avid fisherman who knew every walleye hole on every river in Blue Earth County. One of Aric's best qualities was how he could share himself with others. Friends have described him as one of the most gentle and kind people to walk the earth. His door was always open to anyone and often gave people a room. He was involved in Recovery most of his life and he was the kind of person who wouldn't just give you the shirt off his back but he would also give you his shoes. He gave his time freely and listened patiently to anyone who needed an ear. He was a true believer in the Gospel. He read his Bible daily throughout his life and he loved Jesus Christ.
Aric was an affectionate, loving father and his boys soon became his fishing buddies. He loved playing his guitar and making up silly songs, playing catch and watching the history channel with them. More than anything he loved to cuddle with them. Isaac, Nova and Avery had a special relationship with their dad and they laughed a lot.
He is survived by his three beautiful sons Isaac, Nova and Avery; his loving mother, Lois and her friend Bob; brother, Sheldon and fianc" Brenda; sister, Kimberly and her husband Kim; sister, Jen and her special friend Gary; nieces and nephews, Jamie, Tyler, Mike, Dena, Melanie, Alexis, Tanner, Zach, and Carson; and special friend Andrea. Aric is also survived by many friends including Steve Knowlton and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles and grandparents, Don and Pauline True and Robert and Catherine VanGuilder.
