Ruth M. Legenhausen, age 91, of Mankato, died on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 9 at 2:00 p.m. at Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Ruth was born on September 9, 1920 in Northwood, IA to Bert and Edyth (Remund) Yoemans. She graduated from Northwood High School and Mankato Commercial College. Ruth was united in marriage to Louis Legenhausen on December 14, 1940. She worked for Oshman Hide and Fur, Shari Candies, Thavis/Abdo Accounting, and the women's athletic department at Mankato State. Ruth was an avid reader and enjoyed planting flower gardens. She had an avid interest in her family and especially family history.
She is survived by her children, Steve (Judy) of Highland Park, NJ, Paul (Shar) of Rochert, MN, Anne (John) Hollenbach of Hudson, WI, John (Karen) of Hopkins, and Sara Taylor of Mankato; grandchildren, Jay, George, Jennifer, Tony, Lisa, Amy, Crystal, and Doug; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mick (Doug) Kelly of Davenport, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
