Theodore "Ted" Schoeppner, age 61 of Eagle Lake, died Thursday, September 6, 2012 after losing a year-long courageous battle of cancer at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato with his family by his side.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 10, 2012 at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Scott E. Olson officiating. Private Family Burial will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery on Tuesday. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Grace Lutheran Church or an organization of the donor's choice.

Theodore Vincent "Ted" was born October 9, 1950 to Luke and Florence (Snyder) Schoeppner in St. Peter. He graduated from LeSueur High School in 1968. Ted enlisted in the United States Army. He went to Vietnam in Sept. of 1969 and Holland in 1970. On October 25, 1971, Ted was united in marriage to Renaye Fisher in Holland. He was honorably discharged in 1972. Ted worked at Quality Extrusion in Mankato for 37 years. He retired several years ago due to health reasons. Ted enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, wood carving and occasional trips to the casinos with Putz. Ted was proud of his family, especially his three grandsons, whom he enjoyed spending time with. Ted will be frequently thought of, dearly remembered, and greatly missed. He will also be missed by his dog, Sam.

Ted is survived by his wife Renaye of Eagle Lake; two daughters: Tanya (Lance) Peterson of Fairmont and Ronda (Dan) Kopp of Madison Lake; three grandsons: Logan and Luke Peterson, and Jackson Kopp; six siblings: JoAnn Poach, Gary (Eloise) Schoeppner, David (Darla) Schoeppner, Doreen DePaulo, Cleo (Truman) Smith, and Peter (Ruth) Schoeppner; mother-in-law, Erline Fisher; brother-in-law, Dennis (Vicki) Fisher; and many nieces and nephews.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Clarence Fisher.
