Gail Ann Boyer Satterlee, 68, of North Mankato, went to be with her maker on Sunday, September 2, 2012, at Mayo Clinic Health System - Mankato 10 days after being diagnosed with end-stage stomach cancer.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 6, 2012, at Belgrade Avenue United Methodist Church in North Mankato, with Rev. Dan Horn officiating. Northview - North Mankato Mortuary handled the arrangements.

Gail was born on September 13, 1943, in Peoria, Illinois, to Walter and Mildred Boyer. A self-described "incurable tomboy," Gail grew up on a farm in Hanna City, Illinois. She graduated valedictorian of her Farmington (IL) High School class in 1960 and attended Bradley University in Peoria, earning an associate's degree in business, specializing in secretarial work. She met her husband, Warren Satterlee, while she was working for Caterpillar Tractor Company (IL). They were married on July 24, 1966. Gail and Warren had two children, Amy and Brian. After a stint as a stay-at-home mom, Gail continued in the secretarial field until her first grandchild was born. She was a full-time grandmother from October 16, 1999, until September 2, 2012.

Gail is survived by her husband, Warren of North Mankato; daughter, Amy (Jeff) of Jordan, MN; son, Brian (Stella) of Early, TX; three granddaughters, Jaden, Katie, and Abby - they were the light of her life; father, Walter "Skeet" Boyer and brother Gary, both of Hanna City, IL.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred.
