Gary G. Guenther, age 58 of Waldorf, died Sunday, September 2, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.
Gary was born January 3, 1954 to Woodrow and Deloris (Nelson) Guenther in Mankato, Minnesota. Gary graduated from Mankato High School in 1972. He was united in marriage to Roxanne Bachmeyer on November 30, 1973. Gary served his country in the US Army from 1972 until 1975. After his service to his country, Gary worked as a crane operator for over 20 years, with his last employment at Owatonna Metal Recycling until 2007, when he retired due to health issues. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Waldorf.
Gary was an avid Minnesota Twins and Viking Fan. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially Lincoln his grandson, and his dog. He also enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and watching classic movies.
Gary is survived by his wife, Roxanne of Waldorf; daughter, Marcy (Isaac) Morin and grandson, Lincoln of Lake Crystal; mother, Deloris Guenther of Mankato; daughter-in-law, Nancy Dulas Guenther of Elysian; brother, John (Sharon) Sheehan of Ham Lake; sisters, Barb (Bill) Manske of Mankato, Sue (Harvey) Serr of North Mankato, Judy (Eugene) Mensing of Mankato; many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his son, Rusty; father Woodrow; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Norman and Audrey Bachmeyer.
A private family service and burial are planned. Mankato Mortuary assisted with arrangements.
