Rosalie Schimek, age 86 formerly of Eagle Lake, died Monday, September 3, 2012 at the Janesville Nursing Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 6, 2012 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Mankato Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements. Memorials are preferred to SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church or Mankato Hospice.

Rosalie was born January 15, 1926 to John and Rosalia (Schafflhuber) Kastenmeier in Vivian Township, Waseca County. She went to beauty school in Mankato before opening her own beauty shop in Eagle Lake. On May 25, 1946, Rosalie was united in marriage to Frederick Schimek in Blue Earth. Rosalie enjoyed listening and dancing with friends to her husband Freddie's concertina band. She was a very active member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Rosalie also enjoyed playing cards, gardening, cross stitching, and hardanger. At Christmas time she always had bars and cookies.

Rosalie is survived by her sister,Elsie "Mickey" Parker of Redding, CA and many nieces and nephews.

Rosalie was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick in 2011; parents; brothers; and sisters.
