Lyle Alfred Seppman, age 89, of rural Mankato, died Friday, August 31, 2012 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Mankato with Rev. John Wilmot, officiating. Burial will be in Minneopa Cemetery, rural Mankato. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Monday at Mankato Mortuary, with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service and will continue one hour before service at the church on Tuesday. Memorials may be given to Pheasants Forever, Friends of Minneopa State Park, or St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church.
Lyle was born, October 5, 1922 to Alfred B. and Martha (Heiser) Seppmann Sr. in Mankato. He served his country with the U.S. Army from March 1946 " March 1947 in Seoul, Korea. He was united in marriage to Lenore "Ginger" Knapp on September 7, 1948 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Mankato. Lyle farmed for several years and then went into the Well Drilling business with his brother, Alfred Jr. He was a charter member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and served on the Minneopa Cemetery Board. Lyle and Ginger loved to travel, they went to Hawaii three times, Europe, Spain, and also travel on several cruises. After retirement, Lyle still continued spending time up at the business in the shop.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Ginger Seppman of rural Mankato; two children, Lynn (Darlene) Seppman of Chaska, Janeen (Ralph) Jaeger of St. Peter; four grandchildren, Brian (Rachel) Seppman, Wendy (Larry) Gallucci, Shannon Jaeger, Kelly Jaeger; four great-grandchildren, Aiden, Noelle, and Lauren Gallucci, Carter Seppman; sister, Marilyn Halverson of River Falls, WI; sister-in-law, Arline "Sweetie" Seppmann of Mankato; and many nieces and nephews.
Lyle was preceded in death by three sisters, Phyllis Faust, Ardis Sturdy, Irene Peterson; brother, Alfred Seppmann, Jr.
