Steven Charles Parker, age 40, of rural Amboy, died Thursday, February 10, 2005 at his home.
Funeral service 3:30 p.m. Sunday, February 13, 2005 at the First Baptist Church, Lake Crystal with Rev. Dale Hutchcraft officiating. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Saturday at Mankato Mortuary and continues one hour before services at church on Sunday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the ISJ Hospice Program.
Steven was born September 11, 1964 in San Gabriel, CA to Charles and Harriet (Douglass) Parker. He graduated from Riverland Technical College in Austin. He was united in marriage to Janice Cook on March 1, 1986 in Temple City, CA. Steven was a deputy for the Blue Earth County Sheriffs Department for the past three years, and a member of the Blue Earth County Sheriff Posse. He was a former part-time officer for the Lake Crystal, Amboy, and Vernon Center police, and a member of the Vernon Center Fire Department He had also been employed with Johnson Fishing, Safariland Inc. in CA, and the San Bernadino Search and Rescue, CA. He attended the First Baptist Church of Lake Crystal. Steven enjoyed, hunting, fishing, camping, and ham radio.
Steven is survived by his wife, Janice; mother, Harriet Parker Conner of Murrieta, CA; sister, Becky (Dave) Ludt of Murrieta, CA; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray and Barbara Cook of Monrovia, CA; two sisters-in-law, Susan (Mark) Conner of Santa Clarita, CA; Karen (Jeff) Warmuth of Arcadia, CA; brother-in-law, Dan (Robyn) Cook of Eagle, ID; eight nieces and nephews; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Steven was preceded in death by his father, Charles.
