Ruth Hubmer, age 86, of Mankato, died Thursday, January 20, 2005 at the Janesville Nursing Home. Memorial services will be held 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at Centenary United Methodist church in Mankato, with Rev. Dean Wolf officiating.
She was born on November 25, 1918, in Granada, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Ben and Nellie (Chase) Oliver. She attended Baker Country School and graduated from St. Clair High School. She married Marlin Hubmer in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on May 17, 1941. Ruth was a teacher, and she assisted her husband with their farm near St. Peter. They later moved to Realife Cooperative in Mankato. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Mankato and was active in UMW, Salvation Army, and MRCI. She loved her flowers and still had a garden at Realife. She was loved by all who knew her.
She is survived by one sister, Betty Nyquist of Janesville; two sisters-in-law, Marion Oliver of Janesville, and Lillian Roesler of Mankato; also several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marlin in 2002; and her brother, Donald.
