Louise Antoinette Bohnert, age 96, of North Mankato, died Saturday, January 15, 2005 at Oak Terrace Assisted Living.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, with Rev. Ted Hottinger S.J. and Rev. Francis Kunz concelebrating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service. Visitation continues one hour before services at church on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Schola Foundation or an organization of the donors choice. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Louise was born February 4, 1908 to Joseph and Mary (Keber) Spitzner in St. James, MN. She graduated from St. James High School in 1926 and from Mankato Normal School where she received her Teachers Certificate. Louise taught country school in the St. James area until her marriage to Aloysius Bohnert on June 14, 1934 at St. James Catholic Church, St. James. She was a homemaker for her family and was also employed in the Blue Earth County Assessors Office for many years. Louise was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, active in the church circle, and did volunteer work for many organizations. She enjoyed sewing, ceramics, square dancing, quilting, and flower gardening.
Louise is survived by three children, Jerome Bohnert of Eagle Lake, Marilyn (Emmett) Duffy of Minneapolis, Thomas (Carole) Bohnert of Rochester, NH; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allie, May 25, 2000; daughter-in-law, Darlene; four sisters, and three brothers.
