James A. Thomas, age 45, of Mankato, died Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at his residence. A time of remembrance will be held 2-5 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2005 at Mankato Mortuary.
James was born on March 15, 1959 in Berwyn, IL. He was the son of Jason and Lucille (Eskildsen) Thomas. He and his family moved to Elysian in 1966. James served in the U.S. Army from 1976-1978. He was united in marriage to Denise Stith on July 11, 1981 in Two Harbors. They later divorced. James was self-employed as a drywaller in home construction. He resided in Waterville and spent the last six years living in Mankato. James enjoyed spending his time working.
He is survived by a daughter, Samantha Baier and her husband, Chris of Mapleton; a son, Matthew Thomas and his wife, Aimee of Winnebago; mother, Lucille Thomas of Waseca; sister, Cindy Matz of Lake Crystal; three brothers, Mike Thomas of Mankato, Gerald Thomas and his wife, Nancy of Middletown, OH, Robert Thomas and his wife, Kathy of Tucson, AZ; four grandchildren, Anthony Baier, Chase Thomas, Cassandra and Hailey Jo Marshall; also many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
James was preceded in death by his father and a son, Jeremiah.
