Florence Francis Hicks, age 84 of Mankato, died Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at her daughters home in Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, January 3, 2004 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato with Rev. Richard Colletti officiating. Burial will be in St. Josephs Catholic Cemetery in Good Thunder. Visitation will be held from 2 " 5 p.m., Sunday at Mankato Mortuary with a 4:30 p.m., prayer service. Visitation continues one hour before services at the church on Monday. Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association or the donors choice.
Florence Hicks was born July 31, 1920 to Lawrence and Veronica (Kulla) Ignaszewski in Stevens, MN She was united in marriage to Francis B. Hicks on August 20, 1946 at St. Theresas Catholic Church in Mapleton. Florence was a homemaker for her family. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She was a former member of St. Johns CCW and the Mankato Moose Lodge.
She is survived by five children, Ronald (Cindy) Hicks of North Mankato, Ramona (Clair) Tripp of Crystal Lake, IL, Roberta (Steve) Fuqua of Mankato, Russell Dean (Debra) Hicks of North Mankato, Rozanne (Bill) Goettl of St. Clair; eight grandchildren, William, Daniel and Kristen Tripp, Brad Hicks, Brian (Renae) and Christopher Hicks, Heather Fuqua, Zachary Goettl; two brothers, Louis Ignaszewski of Easton, Martin (Avis) Ignaszewski of Blue Earth; sister-in-law, Madeline Hicks of Winnebago; and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis in 1982; two grandchildren, Jessica and infant grandson.
