Gerald Schultz, age 81, of rural Good Thunder, died Thursday, November 18, 2004 at his home.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 21, 2004 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, with Rev. David Danner officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Decoria Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m., Saturday at Mankato Mortuary, and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday.
Gerald was born December 27, 1922 to Henry and Iva (Ward) Schultz in Beauford, Minnesota. He was united in marriage to Florence Herzberg on October 4, 1950 in Decoria Township. Gerald worked for Hager Manufacturing for 16 years and MICO in North Mankato for 20 years retiring in 1988. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Gerald enjoyed sports, especially the Minnesota Twins, maintaining lawn and enjoyed his family. Gerald deeply appreciated the help of family and neighbors after the loss of his wife and eyesight.
Gerald is survived by his two daughters and their husbands, Cheryl and Dick Barnard of Good Thunder, Debbie and George Ross of Burnsville; one son, Steve Schultz of Minneapolis; three grandchildren, Tracy Johnson and her husband, Michael, Kimberly and Jeffrey Barnard; two brothers and their wives, Robert Casey and Ethel Schultz of Madelia, Wesley and Marlene Schultz of St. Clair; one sister, Delores Bumgarner of Minneapolis; also nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Florence in 1998 and two brothers.
