Warren Donald Bohlke, age 82, of Mankato, died Friday, August 15, 2008 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato following a lingering illness.
A visitation will be held 7-9 p.m., Sunday, August 17, 2008 at Mankato Mortuary. Private family burial will be in Decoria Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the donor's choice.
Warren was born November 1, 1925 in Decoria Township. He was the son of Leo and Sarah (Kalbow) Bohlke. Warren served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1946 during WWII in the South Pacific. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Kunz on April 28, 1948 in Mapleton. Warren was employed with Hubbard Milling Company for 33 years. He was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in St. Clair and the American Legion Post 617 in Eagle Lake. Warren enjoyed wood carving. This year, he and Dorothy celebrated 60 years of marriage together.
Warren is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Mankato; two sons, Dale (Sandra) Bohlke of New Ulm and Dennis Bohlke of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Donna (Douglas) Holt of Mankato; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert (Arlene) Bohlke of Good Thunder and Darrell (Elna) Bohlke of North Mankato.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lawrence; two sisters, Florence in infancy and Lorraine.
