Cameron Daryl Rucks, died Thursday August 7, 2008 at his home at the age of 60.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Mankato. Private burial will be in the Swedish Methodist Cemetery, rural Lafayette. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Mankato Mortuary with a 7:30 p.m. Masonic Service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
Cameron Daryl Rucks was born on February 3rd, 1948 to Bernard and Lorriane (Sickmann) Rucks in Arlington, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington. He was united in marriage to Pamela Jeanne Rohwer at Fairfax United Methodist Church on December 13th, 1969. Cameron served his country in the U.S. Airforce from 1969-1972 as a bomb specialist and served one tour of duty in Vietnam. He grew up in Arlington, graduated from Arlington-Green Isle High School in 1966 and went on to college at Mankato State University, where he earned a Bachelor degree in Business and Accounting. He then went on to become a Board Certified Accountant serving various clients in southeastern Minnesota for the past thirty years. He also had various business endeavors including PCA, Technical Services for Electronics, industrial fabrication facilities, small business loan servicing and the Hutchinson Recycling Facility. For the past six years Cameron had been working with Millerbernd Process Systems and most recently became the Vice President of Finance. In his private life he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and seven grandchildren. To those who knew him he loved to spend many nights watching movies and weekends and days building his dream home. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with friends and family. He cherished being a Masonic brother.
Cameron is survived by wife of 39 years, Pamela of Madison Lake; two sons Aaron and wife, Lori of Redford, MI, Kelly and wife, Rana of Belle Plaine, MN; grandchildren, Gavin, Emerald, Tegan, Blake, Jackson, Danielle and Seth; parents, Lorraine and Bernard of Arlington, MN; mother-in-law, Dotty (Maynard) Youngblom of Fairfax, MN; siblings: brother, Maynard (Eunice) Rucks of Green Isle, sister, Karen (David) Nieland of Wausau, WI, brother, Sheldon Rucks of Arlington; brother-in-law, Tim (Wendy) Rohwer of Arlington; step-brothers: Gary (Lola) Youngblom, Dean (Sandy) Youngblom; step-sisters: Beverly Tyler, Debbie (Gin) Baik; also many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cameron was preceeded in death by an infant daughter; father-in-law, Alvin Rohwer; brother-in-law, Randy Rohwer; sister-in-law, Doreen Rucks, and nephew, Jeffery Rucks.
