Richard Gary Kopp, age 67, of North Mankato, died peacefully surrounded by family, Thursday, August 7, 2008 at his home, after a long battle with illness.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday, August 9, 2008 at the Salvation Army with a short memorial service following. Capt. Bill and Ann Mealy will officiate. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Richard was born April 29, 1941 to Ambrose and Margaret (Willock) Kopp in Mankato. He was in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 to 1961. Richard was united in marriage to Juanita Casio Febuary 8, 1964, in Grand Rapids. He worked for Reserve Mining in Babbit, B.H. Chelsey and Dan's Champion Auto. Richard enjoyed visiting with friends, computers, crossword puzzles, playing cards and spending time with his grandchildren.
Richard is survived by his wife, Juanita of North Mankato; two children, Jacqueline Hummer of North Mankato, Thomas (Angie) Kopp of North Mankato; three grandchildren, Jacob Hummer, Tyler and Kelsey Kopp; two brothers, Jerome (Agnes) Kopp of North Mankato, Duane (Rosemarie) Kopp of North Mankato; special nephew, Cary (Teresa) Casio and their daughter Kate of Mankato.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Rollie and Donald and his granddaughter Emily.
