Marion Jean Eisel

Marion Jean Eisel, age 77, of Paynesville and formerly of Lake Crystal, died Monday, July 14, 2008 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 17, 2008 at the First Methodist Church in Lake Crystal, with Rev. Debbie King-Quale, officiating. Private family burial will be in Lake Crystal Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be one hour before the service on Thursday at church. Lake Crystal Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the donor's choice.

Marion was born November 24, 1930 to Martin J. and Gladys (Finch) Austin in Brainerd. She graduated from Brainerd High School in 1948. Marion was united in marriage to Raymond Eisel on November 27, 1950 in Brainerd. Over the years, she worked as a grocery clerk, was a homemaker for her family, worked at Shari Candies, and was a waitress. Marion retired from Crysteel in 1992, where she had been its 1st woman welder. She moved to Paynesville in 1992. Marion enjoyed crocheting, reading, flea markets, puzzles, and flower gardening after her retirement.

Marion is survived by her four daughters, Janice (Richard) Leyendecker of Paynesville, Kathleen (Larry) Knapper of Tacoma, WA, Donna (John) Engles of rural Lake Crystal, and Marlene Eisel (Jerry Roth) of Lake Crystal; six grandchildren, Theresa Hoppe, Eric (Kayla) Leyendecker, Jay, Lauren, and Brian Engles, and John Roth; two great-grandchildren, Brennen Hoppe and Zayden Leyendecker; four brothers, Marvin (Marge) Austin of Hoyt Lakes, Harvey (Ruth Ann) Austin of Bargaresville, IN, John (Sue) Austin of Pillager, and Peter Austin of Washburn, WI; one sister, Ruth (Len) Muckey of Northfield; also nieces and nephews.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond in 1984; and two sons, Tom in 1973 and Mike in 1991.
