Wallace O. "Wally" Miller, age 83, of Mankato died Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at Oaklawn Health Care Center, Mankato.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 11, 2008 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, rural Mankato with Rev. David Danner officiating. Burial will be in Decoria Cemetery, rural Mankato. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at church on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Wallace was born October 20, 1924 to August and Catherine (Burtzel) Miller in Good Thunder, MN. He was united in marriage to Viola M. Lotton on June 7, 1958 in Mankato. Wally had been employed by Northstar and Minneopa Concrete. He was employed with Archer Daniels for 38 years before retiring. Wally was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, yard work, and a sports fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Twins.
Wally is survived by his wife, Viola of Mankato; son, Steve Miller of Burnsville; daughter, Linda (Galen) Erdman of Janesville; four grandchildren, Brent Erdman of Mankato, Jenise (Scot) Peterson of Janesville, Troy Miller of Pueblo, CO, Jayme Miller and special friend, Sarah Branet of Lakeville; three great-grandchildren, Emery, Taryn, and Tagan; brother, Roger (Peggy) Miller of North Mankato; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Miller and Dorothy Miller both of Mankato; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Wally was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, and four sisters.
