Cecilia Mary Goettlicher, age 90, of North Mankato, formerly of Mankato, died Friday, July 4, 2008 at Oak Terrace Assisted Living.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in North Mankato, with Rev. Peter Nosbush officiating. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary, with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Memorials may be given to Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Cecilia was born June 14, 1918 in Mankato. She was the daughter of Jacob and Barbara (Bisch) Origas. Cecilia attended school at SS. Peter and Paul's and also Good Council Academy in Mankato. She was united in marriage to Alfred "Fritz" Goettlicher on September 7, 1946 in Mankato. Cecilia was employed with Continental Can Company in Mankato and was also a homemaker for her family. She moved to Oak Terrace in 2004. Cecilia was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church where she participated in the sodality. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, flower and vegetable gardening, dancing and listening to old-time music, and visiting with family and friends.

Cecilia is survived by her two sons, Charles (Catherine) Goettlicher and James (Norma) Goettlicher, all of North Mankato; seven grandchildren, Erin, Luke, Megan (Josh) Knaak, Jacob, Andrew (Carrie), Kristy (Mike) Maes, and Matt (Kristin); four great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Dylan, and Marti Goettlicher, and Brandon Maes; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Edwin Goettlicher of North Mankato; brother-in-law, Eugene (Ozelle) Goettlicher of Atlanta, GA; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Origas of Lincoln, NB and Irene Petrik of Mankato; also nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alfred in 1975; three brothers, Herbert (Virginia) Origas, Joe (Doris) Origas, and John Origas; one sister, Lorraine Origas; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ernest Goettlicher, Josephine Salfer, Jane Henriksen, and John Goettlicher.
