Peggy L Upton

Peggy Lucile Upton, age 79 of Mankato, Minnesota and formerly of House, New Mexico, died Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at Immanuel " St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at Chavez Funeral Home in Fort Sumner, New Mexico. Burial will be in Hassell Community Cemetery. Mankato Mortuary handled local arrangements.

Peggy was born August 8, 1928 to Herbert and Lucile (Battenfield) Rickard in Dora, New Mexico. She attended Clovis High School in Clovis, NM. Peggy was united in marriage to Thomas Tucker, who later passed away in 1973. She married Carl Upton in 1976 and he later died in 2001. She moved to Mankato in 2006. Peggy enjoyed gardening, reading the Bible, and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by four daughters, Linda Gaile Mitchell of Albuquerque, NM, Terry Neal of Las Cruces, NM, Latricia (Jim) Stone of Alpena, AR, and Tami (Lacy) Wilkins of Mankato; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren with one on the way; one sister, Patsy (Ron) Whittemore of Portland, OR; two nieces, two nephews, and many special cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; one sister, Ann Malone and one nephew.
