Robert Williams, age 85, of Mankato, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, 30, 2008 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mankato, with Rev. Patrick Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church on Monday. Memorials may be given to Christ the King Lutheran Church. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Robert was born on May 26, 1923 in Garden City. He was the son of Wm. R. and Addie (Romack) Williams. Robert was a veteran of WWII. He was united in marriage to Marion G. Williams on July 14, 1943 in Lake Crystal. Robert worked for Home Gas and Texgas for many years. He was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church, Mankato Moose Lodge, and Mankato VFW. Robert enjoyed camping, being a snowbird in Texas, and time with family and friends.
Robert is survived by his wife, Marion; two children, David (Ilene) Williams and Cindee (Jon) Wachtel, all of Mankato; four grandchildren and five step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and many step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Loren (Bev) Williams of St. Cloud; two sisters-in-law, Blanch Williams and Verna Williams; one brother-in-law, Clarence (Dolly) Herbst; also nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Willard.
