Ronald Hugo John Seewald, 74, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away on June 24, 2008 in Mankato, Minnesota.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 30, 2008 at Hosanna Lutheran Church, Mankato with Rev. Steve Kosberg officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, St. Peter. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m., Sunday at Mankato Mortuary. Memorials may be given to the Salvation Army or the Hosanna Lutheran Building Fund.

Ron was born on January 29, 1934 to Arthur and Elaine (Flamme) Seewald and raised in St. Peter. Ron graduated from St. Peter High School in 1952 and Mankato Vo-Tech. Ron served in the U. S. Army in the recovery team of the atomic bomb research field in Nevada from 1956-1958. Ron worked as a farmer, auto mechanic, and then as a sheet metal worker until 1996.

Ron married Sue Shaw in 1963 and they lived in St. Peter. Sue died in 1970. Ron married Karen Frye in 1972 and they lived in Garden City for thirty-three years and then moved to Mankato, Minnesota. His hobbies included fishing, gardening, woodworking, fixing/repairing items, traveling, and spending time with his family. His wisdom, strength, straight talk, and humor will be dearly missed.

Ron is survived by his wife, Karen; four daughters and their husbands, Jennifer Nasr (Ashraf) of Doha, Qatar, Chris Wolters (Gary) of Mankato, MN, Angela Seewald-Marquardt (Brent) Moorhead, MN, Margie Stebbeds (Tracy) of Burnsville, NC; his sister, Ardis Honestchlager (Donald) of Newbury Park, CA; seven grandchildren, Jordan, Calib, Zach, Noah and Madison Wolters, Ameera Nasr, Owen Seewald-Marquardt; many nieces and nephews.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law, Alfred and Esther Frye; first wife; infant son, Michael; several aunts and uncles.
