Anna C. Leininger Drill, age 89 of Mankato formerly of Courtland and Minnesota Lake, died Saturday, November 13, 2004 at Mankato House Health Center in Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, North Mankato, with Rev. Peter Nosbush officiating. Burial in St. John Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Minnesota Lake. Visitation on Tuesday from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mankato Mortuary is handling arrangements.
Anna was born July 24, 1915 in rural Wells, MN to Paul and Johanna (Ignazewski) Kulla. She was united in marriage to Clyde Leininger on April 14, 1936 in Wells, MN. She and her husband lived on their farm near Minnesota Lake. After his death in May of 1967, she moved into Minnesota Lake. She married LeRoy Drill on January 31, 1973 in Mankato. She moved to Courtland in 1973 and lived there until LeRoy died in April of 2001. Anna then moved to Mankato.
Anna was a farm wife helping her husband with farming. She also worked for Nordaas American Homes and Smiths Variety Store in Minnesota Lake. She was one of the founding members of the Festag Celebration, and served as chairman of the Miss Festag contest. Anna also served on several committees at St. John the Baptist Church in Minnesota Lake. She enjoyed homemaking, dancing, hunting, fishing, gardening, sewing, crocheting and traveling.
She is survived by three daughters, Addie (William) Armstrong of St. Cloud, Carol(Grant) Beske of Princeton, NJ, Marsha (Michael) Dawson Burgraff of Fairmont; a step-son, Richard (Pearl) Drill of rural Courtland; grandchildren, Duane (Joy) Woitas, Larry (Peggy) Woitas, Thomas, Robert and Paul Armstrong, Amy (Robert) McGinn, Kirsten Beske and husband, David Dunn, Galen (Mitos) Beske, Gavin (Lise) Beske, Andrea Beske, Shanna and Karrah Dawson; a step-grandson, Marvin (Lisa) Drill;seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Katie Woitas in December of 2003, step-grandson, Michael Drill and a brother, Phillip.
