Helen Wiedenheft, 96, died Saturday, November 13, 2004 at Laurels Edge Assisted Living, Mankato.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Saturday, November 20 at St. John Lutheran Church in Good Thunder, which precedes the funeral service which will be at 10:00 AM at St. Johns. Burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Good Thunder. The Ladies Aid Society of St. John Lutheran Church will provide a luncheon afterward. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Helen Augusta Wiedenheft, daughter of Gus and Ottilie (Oetjen) Wiedenheft, was born May 13, 1908 in Good Thunder. She earned a Bachlors degree in Education from the National College of Education, Evanston, IL. Helen taught first and second grade for 42 years, in Elmore, MN, Lead, S.D., Wauwatosa, WI, and Mankato. Helen will be remembered by many students for the impact she made on their lives.
She has been a member of St. John Lutheran Church and served in the Ladies Aid Society.
She is survived by nieces, Judy Cole of Leadville, CO and Janet Gelfman of Santa Rosa, CA; a nephew, Jon Wiedenheft of Hollywood, CA; by two grandnieces and two grandnephews; by many loving cousins; and by hundreds of former students.
