Jeanne L. Rosnau, age 80, of Mankato, died Friday evening, November 5, 2004 at Immanuel"St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday at Centenary United Methodist Church in Mankato with Rev. Pam Serdar officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Mankato. Visitation will be held from 4"7 p.m. Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before services at the church on Wednesday.
Memorials may be given to Centenary Building Fund, ISJ Hospice Program, or donors choice.
Jeanne Lousie (Simondet) Rosnau was born November 23, 1923 to William and Sarah (Lipp) Simondet, in North Redwood, Redwood County, MN. She attended grade school in North Redwood. In 1931, she moved with her family to North Mankato, where attended grade school and high school. She was a 1941 Mankato High School graduate.
In the fall of 1941, she attended Mankato Teachers College and graduated in the spring of 1945. During the 1945-46 school year, she taught junior high English and Math in Zumbrota. She also taught in Glencoe and later in LeSueur, until the spring of 1953. On September 19, 1953, she married George Rosnau. Jeanne taught junior high in North Mankato from 1954-1955. After being at home a few years, she began employment in the Office of the Registrar at Mankato State University retiring in June of 1987, after nineteen years of service.
Survivors include her husband, George Rosnau of Mankato; son, John Rosnau and his wife, Janet of Barnum, MN; brother, Russel Simondet of Lake Crystal, MN; brother-in-law, Lowell (Dorothy) Rosnau of Brainerd; sister-in-law, Vivian (Peter) Skogerbo of Rochester; nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Jack Simondet.
