James Jim Hollerich, age 57, of Garden City, died Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at his home.
Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Crystal, with Rev. Randal Lubbers officiating. Burial will be in Garden City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Lake Crystal Mortuary and will continue one hour before services at church on Monday.
James was born August 30, 1947 to Samuel and Shirle (Winters) Hollerich in Mankato. He graduated from Garden City High School in 1965. On August 2, 1969, he married Sandra A. Muske in Lake Crystal. Jim worked at Rays Standard Station in Garden City and was employed with Honeymead in 1976, where he continued his employment with Cenex Harvest States in Mankato.
Jim was a member, deacon, and elder of First Presbyterian Church in Lake Crystal, where he participated in the choir. He assisted in the organization of the Sharing Tree, volunteered with the Salvation Army Kettle Drives, and was involved with the Blue Earth County Recycling Committee. Jim enjoyed yardwork, especially taking particular care of his lawn and flowers. He also enjoyed woodworking, traveling and spending time with his family.
Survived by his wife, Sandra Hollerich of Garden City; two children, Sara Hollerich of Des Moines, IA, Joel Hollerich and his wife, Kelli of Chaska; three sisters and their husbands, Judith and Kenneth Truebenbach of Big Fork, Kathryn and Gordon Oachs of Garden City, Jane and Dean Caldwell of Amboy; step-father, Ray Gustafson of Garden City; brother-in-law, Gary Muske and his wife, Jackie of Minneapolis; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dennis.
