Rita Marie Krampf, age 87 of Mankato and formerly of Duluth, died Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 16, 2004 at St. Margaret Marys Catholic Church in Duluth with Rev. John Petrich officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at church on Saturday. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2004 in Riverview Memorial Park in Monroeville, PA. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Rita was born December 19, 1916 in Pittsburgh, PA to Edward and Hilda (Leindecker) Hartung. She was united in marriage to George W. Krampf on March 30, 1940 in Pittsburgh. George died on May 7, 1962 in Pittsburgh. Rita moved to the Duluth area in 1970 and was employed by the Woolworth Company. She was a member of St. Margaret Marys Catholic Church in Duluth and the C.C.W. She served on the hospitality committee at Spirit Lake Manor in Duluth. Rita enjoyed traveling, shopping and spending time with her family. In August of 2004, she moved to Mankato to be near her son, Harry.
Survivors include two sons, Harry (Debbie) Krampf of Mankato, William (Louise) Krampf of Southgate, MI; two sisters, Anna (Raymond) Ritchie, Mary D. Weber; a brother, Paul (Lillian) Hartung all of Pittsburgh, PA; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband; a granddaughter, Katie Poirier; three brothers, Edward, Walter and William; and a sister, Ruth.
