Dorotha F. Dort Cramblit, age 89 of Mankato and formerly of rural Lake Crystal died Thursday, September 30, 2004 at Mankato Lutheran Home.

Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Monday at The First United Methodist Church, Lake Crystal, with Rev. Kaye Brandt officiating. Burial in Garden City Cemetery. Visitation 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the Lake Crystal Mortuary in Lake Crystal and one hour before services at the church on Monday. If so desired memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church of Lake Crystal.

Dorotha Fern Wilson was born on January 12, 1915 in Lenox, Iowa to Fred E. and Frances (Bruington) Wilson. The family moved to Minnesota in 1918. Dort graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1934 and from Mankato State Teachers College in 1939. On July 28, 1940, she was united in marriage to Donald O. Cramblit.

In 1939, Dort began teaching at Judson Elementary School. She returned to farming with her husband, Don on the Fred Wilson farm near Lake Crystal in 1948. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lake Crystal, and the Esther Circle. She also was a member of Blue Earth Co. Extension Club, Shriners Auxiliary, and was a member and past worthy matron of Lake Crystal Eastern Star. Dort was a 4-H leader for many years. She enjoyed gardening, entertaining, taking care of others, traveling, playing bridge, and supporting her children and grandchildren. Dort and Don wintered for many years in Mesa, Arizona, until 1999.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Cramblit; a daughter, Donnis Deever of Phoenix, AZ; three sons, Dean (Karin) Cramblit of Pinetop, AZ, Dennis (Nancy) Cramblit of North Mankato, Doug (Linda) Cramblit of Mankato; eight grandchildren, Daniel Deever, Denese (Nick) Cordaro, Dawn (Russ) Schneider, Darcy, Derek and Thomas Cramblit, JoAna and Andrew Cramblit; a great-granddaughter, Ashley Schneider; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mildred Larson.
