Willard A. Palmer, age 81, of Madelia, died Thursday, September 9, 2004 at Luther Memorial Home in Madelia.
Memorial Service 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Madelia, with Rev. Gene Anderson officiating.
Willard was born May 14, 1923 to Albert and Anna (Sackel) Palmer in Fairfax. He served his country during World War II in the European Theater with the U.S. Army. He was united in marriage to Marion Ehlers in 1948. He later married Margaret Binger. Willard was employed with Standard Oil in Fairfax and the Fairfax Municipal Light and Power Plant. He moved to Madelia in 1968 and was employed with the Madelia Municipal Light and Power Plant until retiring in 1988. He enjoyed polka music and dancing, fishing, and traveling.
He is survived by five children, Glenn Palmer of Palm Harbor, FL, Howard (Josefa) Palmer of Norfolk, VA, Randy (Kathy) Palmer of Lamar, CO, Rose Ann (Paul) Severson of Lake Crystal, Steven (Bobette) Palmer of Madelia; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers; one sister; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Virgil; his first and second wives.
