Marilyn Joan (Hohenstein) Lentz, age 68, of Good Thunder, died Thursday, May 11, 2006 at her home.

Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Good Thunder, with Rev. Rudolph H. Maurer, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Barnards Valley View Cemetery, rural Good Thunder. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2006 at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday. Memorials may be given to American Diabetes Association or St Johns Lutheran Church in Good Thunder.

Marilyn was born February 20, 1938, in Mankato to Richard and Verna (Butson) Hohenstein. Marilyn attended Garden City High School and graduated in 1956. She was also a graduate of Mankato Commercial College. Marilyn was united in marriage to Harlan Lentz on November 10, 1957 in Iowa. Marilyn worked for Blue Earth County, First National Bank as a teller, and as an aide at the Mapleton Community Home until her retirement in 1998.

Marilyn was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Good Thunder and a past member of the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Harlan of Good Thunder; two children, Richard (Tammy) Lentz of Mankato and Deborah Schreiber of North Mankato; four grandchildren, Jason Lentz of Mankato, Donell Reich of Mankato, Andrew Schreiber of Eugene, OR, and Sara Schreiber of Mankato; a brother, Stanley (Mary Kay) Hohenstein of Vernon Center; many nieces, nephews, and brothers- and sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Dean; and her father- and mother-in-law, Gordon and Violet Lentz.
