Ethel L. Sens, age 85, of North Mankato, died Thursday, April 27, 2006 at Immanuel St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 1, 2006 at Messiah Lutheran Church in North Mankato, with Rev. James Ahlquist officiating. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. on Sunday at Mankato Mortuary, and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Memorials are preferred to Alzheimers research or to the donors choice.
Ethel Lucille Sens was born on April 14, 1921 in Mt. Vernon, Davidson County, S.D. She was the daughter of Joseph and Linda (Ruhberg) Dolly. Ethel was united in marriage to Edward W. Sens on August 20, 1949 in Mankato. She was a homemaker for her family, and also worked as a hairstylist. Ethel and her husband also were owners of the Silver Grill Caf, the Imperial Lunch Restaurant, and the Nakato Bar. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in North Mankato. Ethel enjoyed sewing, crocheting, bowling, playing cards, and fishing with her husband, Edward.
Ethel is survived by her three children and their spouses, Robert (Sharon) Sens of Mankato, Steve (Ethel) Sens of Janesville, and Patricia (Russ) Johnson of Mankato; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; also many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward in 1994; one great-grandchild, Adam; two brothers, Eldon and Orville; and four sisters, Doris, Norma, LaVelle, and Lola.
