Bessie M Mikkelson

Bessie M Mikkelson, age 88, of Lake Crystal, died April 19, 2006 at Lake Crystal Health Care Center.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 24, 2006 at Our Saviourss Lutheran Church in Butternut with Rev. Gene Alms, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at church on Monday. Memorials may be given to Our Saviours Lutheran Church or to donors choice. Lake Crystal Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Bessie was born March 31, 1918 to Charles and Rosa (Knuth) Hoeft in Watonwan County, Minnesota. She was united in marriage to Peter Mikkelson on September 22, 1945 in Madelia. She farmed all of her life with her husband and her family. She was a member of Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Butternut. She enjoyed traveling with her husband in their plane on fishing and hunting trips, and she was an avid Twins fan.

She is survived by a sister, Mabel Finstrom of Lake Crystal; step-son, Dennis (Donna) Mikkelson of rural Lake Crystal; three step-grandchildren, Greg Mikkelson, Shelly Goettl and Kari (John) Gustafson, all of Lake Crystal; seven step great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Peter in 1988; three brothers; and four sisters.
