Alta B Bergemann

Alta B. Bergemann, age 81, of rural Vernon Center, died Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at her home.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 21, 2006 at St. John Lutheran Church, Good Thunder with Rev. Rudolph H. Maurer, officiating. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Good Thunder. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday (TODAY) at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at church on Friday. Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church.

Alta was born May 16, 1924 to Frederick Carl and Sena Marie (Stolzmann) Kopischke in Ceresco Township, Blue Earth County. Alta was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church, Willow Creek on June 1, 1924 and confirmed on April 10, 1938. She was united in marriage to Ewald W. Bergemann on June 16, 1946 at St. John Lutheran Church, Willow Creek. Alta was a homemaker for her family and enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Alta is survived by four children, Carlyn (Linda) Bergemann of Mankato, Robert (Marilyn) Bergemann of Rapidan, Nancy (Robert) Baker of Mokena, IL, and Darla (James) Mourning of Elk River; twelve grandchildren, Lisa (Ryan) Visher, Andy (Jackie) Bergemann, Ashley (Nicholas) Briggs, Mandy, Ryan (Kari), and Jeni Baker, Chad and Jesse Bergemann, Kelly (Jeremy) Beyers, Kayla (Marco), Erin, and Katie Mourning; eight great-grandchildren, Sidney, Riley, and Christian Visher, Allison and Paige Bergemann, Luke, Owen, and Max Baker; brother, Gordon (Dorothy) Kopischke of Vernon Center, three sisters, Mabel Nibbe of Truman, Verona (Delphin) Urban of Lake Crystal, Norma (Jerry) Kelley of Coon Rapids; four sisters-in-law, Helen Kopischke of Madison Lake, Olivia Kopischke of Lewisville, LuVerna Kopischke of Huntley and Donna Kopischke of Vernon Center; many nieces and nephews.

Alta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ewald in 1994; four brothers, Clarence, Harold, Elmer, and Earl Kospischke.
