James E. Imlay, age 46, of rural Lake Crystal, died Monday, April 17, 2006.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2006 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mankato with Rev. Richard Colletti, officiating. Burial will be in Jerusalem Cemetery, Judson Township, Blue Earth County. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Lake Crystal Mortuary with a 3:45 p.m. prayer service and will continue one hour before service at church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to an organization of the donors choice.
James was born August 19, 1959 to Martin and Catherine (Rooney) Imlay in Mankato. He graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1977. He married Patricia A. Goebel on September 14, 1984 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mankato. James had been employed with Le Sueur Farmers Elevator, Ferrell Gas, 49rs Union, and presently with his own business, Safe Guard Home Inspections. James was a member of Business Network International, Ducks Unlimited, Lake Crystal Chamber of Commerce, and had been involved with Toys for Tots. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking.
James is survived by his wife, Patty; daughter, Danielle Imlay; son, Jarret Imlay all of rural Lake Crystal; parents, Martin and Phyllis Imlay of rural Lake Crystal; two brothers, Steven (Theresa) Imlay of Sagle, ID, Mark (Kathy) Imlay of Douglasville, GA; four step brothers, Terry (Beverly) Larson of North Mankato, David (Pam) Larson, Randall (Gloria) Larson all of Mankato, Rodney (Tiffany) Larson of Andover, step-sister, Julie (John) Hawker of Mankato; step-sister-in-law, Karen (Roger) Lindenfelser of Big Lake; step-grandmother, Emma Larson of Madelia; father-in-law, Leon Goebel of Mankato; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ann Goebel of Estherville, IA, Randy Goebel, Wayne (Molly) Goebel, Ed Goebel, Mary Kay Furst all of Mankato, Janet (Chris) Rodebaugh of Black Diamond, WA, Debbie (John) Blackmer of Faribault, Diane Webber, Apple Valley, Tom (Loretta) Goebel of Pemberton, Linda Drill of Shakopee; many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
